I bought this fake Spyderco C172 Domino on AE for under 17$.
It is another beautifully made fake at an incredible price. While it leans heavily on the original design, it is easy to spot that it isn't a real Spyderco. The scales are stone washed stainless steel, at 9mm thickness the knife is very slim but despite its small footprint it weighs a hefty 160 grams. Fit & finish on this knife is flawless, no sharp edges, the spacers are straight and everything looks and feels like a 100$ knife. The pocket clip is right side tip up only, clipped in a pocket about 18mm of the knife protrude from the seam. A lanyard can be attached.
The blade is advertised as 440C and is a full flat ground. It flips open with lightning speed and moves super smooth on ball bearings, yes a 17 dollar knife that has bearings, it's hard to believe! There is no blade play in any direction when open and closed it is perfectly centered. The frame lock is solid and early, the detent is strong but still comfortable to use. The precise jimping on the thumb ramp and in the finger choil make for a great grip and blade control. Out of the box the knife was shaving sharp and it has very good edge retention. Like most of my knifes I use it for cutting thick rubber and plastic hoses, rope, stripping wires, slicing bags, scraping, light prying and similar tasks.
I am very happy with the quality and finish of this fake, it is another example of what Chinese manufacturers are capable of producing at a budget price point. It is an amazing EDC knife and without having ever owned the real one that costs 10 times more, i believe the fake cannot even be 10 % less of the original! I like it so much that might get another one.
