I have always liked certain aspects of ER's designs so this one caught my eye when I stumbled upon it browsing AliExpress. Despite the fake being labelled as a FULCRUM C, I have not been able to establish that it is a clone of an actual ER model. What is certain is that it is not a common design, I found only 1 store selling it for just under 30$.
The knife inside the sheath is 31.5cm long, alone 28.3cm and the blade is 15.3cm long. Total weight is 363 grams, knife alone 259 grams. It arrived shaving sharp out of the box, time will tell how the advertised 7cr13 steel holds up but I was impressed by the first encounter! The handle is extremely comfortble to hold, it's made from some hard rubber material that closes neatly around the full tang of the blade. The grip is phenomenal, wet or dry! There is a small inconsistency on the bottom side of one seam but it's purely cosmetic. There is a very pointy glass breaker tip with integrated lanyard hole on the end of the handle.
The flat ground matte black blade is an interesting mix of styles with the sheepsfoot top and full belly cutting edge. The 4mm thick blade has enough heft for chopping wood but the long belly makes it an equal joy to cut up onions or dice meat, exactly what I was hoping for. In fact, if th blade was thinner it would be the perfect kitchen knife.
The sheath is made from some hard plastic material, not real Kydex but it wasn't advertised as such. Nonetheless the sheath is solid, well made and very functional, the knife sits tight without any rattle or play. The removable steel clip is strong and lets you carry the knife on a belt or simply clipped to the seam of your pants. The additional holes in the sheath allow to strap it to your pack in any position.
Having only arrived a few days ago I have not had a chance to use it much but so far I am sold on this knife. I will write a follow up on this in the future.
