In 2014 I had ordered a knife from an AE store. After 4 weeks of nothing happening with my delivery I sent a message to the shop asking what the holdup was, the seller responded promptly, apologized many times and immediately sent knife including this folder free of charge, I was rather impressed by his customer care! Although it resembles the ZT 0200, it is not an exact clone of that model.
The stainless steel bolsters are covered with aluminium scales that are milled in a pattern similar to some ZT knives. It is done rather well providing a comfortable and secure grip. One of the torx screws was not completely flush and needed some work but other than that the fit & finish was surprisingly good for a knife costing under 13$ The non-reversible pocket clip is tip down only, 16mm of the handle protrude from your pocket seam. It has a good sized lanyard hole.
The 2.7mm thick drop point blade is 5Cr13MoV steel, hollow ground and came shaving sharp out of the box. Edge retention is surprisingly good and it is honed easily. The ambidextrous thumb studs are working well, the blade moves smoothly and sits centered when closed. The liner lock is quite thin but engages early and solid. There is a small flipper tab but it doesn’t really work despite a decent detent. The short thumb ramp has jimping and makes for a good grip.
All in all I am rather surprised by this knife! After receiving it it went into the knife drawer and remained there for over 1 year, I only started using it about 10 months ago but I quickly realized that it is a perfect size and with 98 grams it is very comfortable to carry, it is a great cutter and slicer and it does everything I need a knife to do without fault or failure. And after using it extensively for about 4 months it was this freebie from a Chinese internet shop that made me buy my first real ZT knife. Go figure!
