I bought this fake Strider in August 2015 on AE for 16$. As far as I can tell it is not an accurate copy of an existing Strider but it is based upon the SnG model.
The "concealed carry" handle is a heavy stonewashed stainless steel frame lock and a thick slab of contured G10. Fit & finish are impeccable. Smooth to the touch, very comfortable to hold with no hot spots, the ergonomics are perfect any way you grab the handle. The lanyard hole, besides of being tiny to start with, is useless, the point of the blade intersects with it when closing. The pocket clip is right side tip up only, when carried in a pocket, about 23mm of the knife protrude from the seam. The clip is very strong. The jimping on the handle continues into the spine of the blade and provides solid grip without sharp edges. The butt has also jimping for an improved upside down grip.
The drop point blade is made of 5Cr13WoV, hollow ground, and has a very pronounced swedge on the spine. The finger choil makes it easy to choke up the blade for detailed work with excellent blade control. The thumb studs are actually the stopping pins for the blade, the knife opens comfortably through the elongated hole. Operation is very smooth, the blade has zero play in any direction and is perfectly centered. The frame lock engages with a reassuringly fat click, the detent is just right. Despite of the over 4mm thick stock, the blade pierces and slices well. While I find it rather difficult to sharpen, it retains the edge very well.
I use the “Strider” at work for cutting materials like thick rubber and plastic hoses, polypropylene and sisal rope, stripping wires, slicing open cement bags, scraping metal surfaces, light prying and similar tasks. While I am certain that a genuine Strider is in another league altogether, this is still an amazing knife and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
